Farewell Weekend

We soaked up every moment of the two days we got to spend with Weston's parents before they left on their mission. We will miss being able to spend holidays and long weekends with them. Mom Pratt always makes everything so special, especially for her grandchildren.  They are going to miss her so much. Leo bonded with grandpa this trip and got to enjoy lots of playtime and snuggles with him. We know they are going to be amazing missionaries in Mexico City, and we can't wait to hear about their experiences.

Palo Duro Canyon

Last weekend we went camping at Palo Duro Canyon. It was really fun to get away from Lubbock for a couple days. Emmett and Leo had fun being outside all day. Leo is the best little hiker! Emmett has always been so slow but Leo was
just booking it on the trails. It was adorable. We loved our crockpot dinner and smores and we all slept great in our new sleeping bags and tent. We definitely want to go back again when the weather is cooler.  And next time we will bring packs to carry the boys so we can do some longer hikes.

Update

October 5, 2015

I still can't believe we're having our third boy in February! We really thought it was going to be a girl this time because my pregnancy has been different. When I found out he's a boy I was surprised, but now I am so excited. Nadine and Cate are also having babies in February, and Andrea is having one in March, so this baby will have some close cousins! I think having three boys this close will be so fun. I hope they will be best buds forever like Wes and his brothers. We love the name Ruby for a girl and Emmett keeps calling the baby Ruby even though we've told him it's a boy. He says no it's a girl baby. So we'll see how he feels about it when he's born! For boy names we like Adam, Danny, and Henry, but we will probably change our minds in the next 20 weeks. We are going to have three kids soon! Crazy.
Leo is 15 months old now. He had his appointment today and is 23 pounds. He's been walking for a couple months and is starting to say a few things like Emmett and mama. Not that he's understandable or anything! His personality is so fun. He loves to laugh and play with his dad and brother. He loves wrestling! He is always moving. Grandpa Pratt was here a few days ago and he called him a perpetual motion machine, he never stops. He's super wiggly and hard to get changed and dressed. He loves books but he rarely sits through a whole one without grabbing it and walking around with it. He just wants to play all the time. I love him so much! I can't believe my baby is going to be a big brother soon. It's a little sad that he won't be my baby for too much longer. Or maybe he'll always be my baby.
The Southplains fair is in town and we've been twice already. The boys love the animals and the tractors.
This past weekend was general conference. On Saturday Emmett went in to his room and brought out a church outfit including vest and cowboy hat and said he needed to wear it and pretend he was going to church. Such a good boy.
One more thing I need to report is potty training is finally clicking for Emmett! Number one has been going well for a while now but number two not so well. But today he said "oh! I need to go to the potty!" And ran to the bathroom and went poop!! It was a miracle!

Robin Hood

Emmett is 3 years old now and Leo is 15 months! I'm exactly 20 weeks pregnant with our third boy. Boys are so much fun.  Emmett is always dressed up as something. He loves hats and has many. To name some: COWBOY (which is also a muskateers and pirate hat), fireman, construction worker, train conductor, soldier, fiddler on the roof....well he's been asking for a Robin Hood hat for a while now so we decided he could be Robin Hood for Halloween this year. Today the costume finally came in the mail. He did not understand why we couldn't just go to the store and get it. He was SO excited to put it on! Weston wasn't home and he kept saying "I NEED to show Dad!"  He ran around with his new little play knife and arrows tucked into his belt and he practiced shooting that bow and arrow for a long time before he finally could do it. He was determined to get it! He is now taking a nap still wearing the costume including the hat. I love that boy.

Emmett's First Birthday!

My baby turned one year old today!  I can't believe a year has gone by, but at the same time I can't remember life without him.
Emmett has truly changed our lives. He pretty much IS our life now. And we couldn't be happier.
He started out his big day by opening his presents. He loved it and only needed a little help!
We put his entire cake in front if him to see what he would do. He was a little shy at first but he soon got aquainted with it and dug right in.
After cake he took a long nap. And Lizzy, Aubrey, Hudson and I played red light green light and pin the birthday hat on Emmett. It was a blast.
He is starting to walk. He can take up to about 5 steps, and he's so proud of himself when he does it.  We gave him a little walker and he has loved walking all around the house today.
He is 31 inches tall and weighs 24 pounds.
His favorite food right now is probably scrambled eggs with lots of cheese. And he loves veggie straws and apple sauce.
His favorite song is "The Wheels on the Bus", and his favorite book is "I Love you Through and Through".
He LOVES all music and any beat that he can dance to!
We go swimming every day and he is super comfortable in the water. Bath time each night before bed is his favorite time.
He loves playing with his toys and splashing around.
Weston gets home at 10:30pm and every night he goes in and holds Emmett for a bit while he's sleeping. It's sweet.
He loves anything with buttons he can push; phone, remote, piano. And anything he can grab; marker, pen, toothbrush, straw. He can always be found with one of these clutched in his chubby little fist.
He smiles easily and his laugh is contagious! He gives big wet kisses. When he's tired he sometimes gets in goofy moods and will laugh his head off at ANYTHING we do!  It's awesome.
Emmett is such a blessing and I love him to pieces.
