Emmett's First Birthday!

My baby turned one year old today!  I can't believe a year has gone by, but at the same time I can't remember life without him.
Emmett has truly changed our lives. He pretty much IS our life now. And we couldn't be happier.
He started out his big day by opening his presents. He loved it and only needed a little help!
We put his entire cake in front if him to see what he would do. He was a little shy at first but he soon got aquainted with it and dug right in.
After cake he took a long nap. And Lizzy, Aubrey, Hudson and I played red light green light and pin the birthday hat on Emmett. It was a blast.
He is starting to walk. He can take up to about 5 steps, and he's so proud of himself when he does it.  We gave him a little walker and he has loved walking all around the house today.
He is 31 inches tall and weighs 24 pounds.
His favorite food right now is probably scrambled eggs with lots of cheese. And he loves veggie straws and apple sauce.
His favorite song is "The Wheels on the Bus", and his favorite book is "I Love you Through and Through".
He LOVES all music and any beat that he can dance to!
We go swimming every day and he is super comfortable in the water. Bath time each night before bed is his favorite time.
He loves playing with his toys and splashing around.
Weston gets home at 10:30pm and every night he goes in and holds Emmett for a bit while he's sleeping. It's sweet.
He loves anything with buttons he can push; phone, remote, piano. And anything he can grab; marker, pen, toothbrush, straw. He can always be found with one of these clutched in his chubby little fist.
He smiles easily and his laugh is contagious! He gives big wet kisses. When he's tired he sometimes gets in goofy moods and will laugh his head off at ANYTHING we do!  It's awesome.
Emmett is such a blessing and I love him to pieces.

The Swing!

Emmett LOVES to swing. He cries and reaches for it when I take him out of it! He had so much fun swinging for a long time today!

St. Patrick's day

Mom Pratt made a green feast for St. Patrick's day this year. We had corn beef and cabbage, asparagus, peas, salad, green grapes, green jello, pistachio pudding, and (my personal favorite) Blue Bell mint chocolate chip ice cream!

More Pics!

I know I posted some of these already but now they're edited. I'm having fun with my new camera!

Sick Week

Well we've all been sick this week.  It seems Emmett is feeling better, but I've been sick for a couple days and now Weston has it.  I don't think I've left the house for 4 days...BUT on Wednesday I got a new phone and I am loving the camera on it.  I have taken about a million pictures and videos of Emmett.  Here are a few videos; pictures to come.  I always want to record him when he's being really cute, but whenever he's sees the camera, he stops whatever he's doing and just stares at it.  Oh well, he's still cute!

Almost 8 months!

I can't believe Emmett will be 8 months old in one week! He is such a good boy. But the last couple weeks he has not been sleeping well at all. We thought he was just teething but then at the beginning of this week he started coughing and has had a running nose and really goopy eyes. So FINALLY yesterday Weston took him to the doctor while I was at work. It turns out he has an ear infection in both ears! I feel so bad for not taking him in sooner. He is already so much happier today, as seen in the pics:

Brown Bear Brown Bear

Emmett's new favorite book.  I didn't capture it very well, but he usually gets SO excited when we read this book.  He starts flapping his arms and kicking his legs really fast! He loves touching the pictures and turning the pages.

St. George

We had such a great time in St. George visiting Mom.  Kristy and her kids were there the whole week with us and Kelly came down for part of the time.  We did so many fun things!

We went on some fun hikes and played in the sand at Snow Canyon!

We went swimming and hot tubbing every day for hours!  That's all the kids wanted to do.  It was so fun relaxing in the hot tub and swimming in the 40 degree weather!

We were even able to spend some time with Mariah Endsley.  She came over to the condo one night and we just chatted and caught up after 10 years!  The next night we met up with her and Bill at Cafe Rio!  Fun and YUM!

Emmett had so much fun with his cousins!  And they loved him too!

We also went to a few historic sites in the area including Brigham Young's winter home, the Daughter's of Utah Pioneer Museum, the old court house and the Temple.
It was incredible to see the history our family has there. I have heard the story my whole life about my great grandfather dying while trying to lift a safe, and I finally got to go to the courthouse and see it.
